Tampa, Florida-based startup lauded for using the gig economy to help contact centers

TAMPA, Fla. , 2022 ShyftOff, a provider of contact center technology, processes and staffing through the power of the GigCX model, announced today it was a semifinalist for the prestigious Startup of the Year award.

Powered by Established, the Startup of the Year program is a global competition, world-wide community and resource to elevate startup founders. At the time of submission, startups must have raised less than $5 million in funding, be an independent company and have at least a functional prototype.

“The Startup of the Year program has opened us up to an incredible network of founders and investors, which is essential to our continued growth,” said Trevor Clark, Founder & CEO, ShyftOff. “To be included as a semifinalist among such an impressive group of founders and startups is an honor and we’re grateful to be recognized in the startup community.”

The screening process for Startup of the Year involved analyzing each applicant’s idea and mission, and ShyftOff was selected to be a semifinalist. The Tampa, Florida-based company was joined on the list by an exclusive roster who’s who in the startup space, including companies hailing from entrepreneurial hotbeds like Austin, Texas; Los Angeles; San Francisco; New York; and Miami.

By connecting struggling contact centers with agents it sources through the gig economy, ShyftOff helps to eliminate long hold times, attract and retain better talent, and significantly reduce costs. The gig economy facilitates flexibility not found in traditional, full-time and in-house contact centers, a perk that enables ShyftOff to seamlessly scale up or down to accommodate a contact center’s needs.

At the moment, 100% of ShyftOff’s agents reside in the United States, with agents undergoing an extensive certification process for each client prior to ever answering a single call.

“We created ShyftOff because we recognized that companies needed a more efficient, more effective and less expensive way to staff their contact centers,” Clark said. “Receiving praise from Startup of the Year is nice, but nothing means more than when we hear how we’ve helped our clients improve their contact center operations.”
